Students new minor about protocol at work at the fashion show of Ronald Kolk

The students of the new minor about protocol and relationship management worked as an usher at the fashion show of Ronald Kolk yesterday in hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam. The students were trained by the Protocolbureau in welcoming and seating the guests. 600 celebrities, clients, politicians and press had to be seated within 30 minutes.

The training on the job at the fashion show is part of a ten week minor for fourth year students of The Hague University.
The minor translates classic protocol, as used by the European monarchies for centuries to arrange meetings with Royals and other dignitaries, into modern relationship management. In the current economic climate costly events are no longer being held, but organizations still want to make the most of their network. A good relationship with clients, investors and other stakeholders remains important. Modern protocol responds to this need, which explains the popularity of the minor.

The minor is a cooperation of The Academy for Facility Management of The Hague University with the Institute of Protocol The Hague. During ten weeks the students will learn how to develop a relationship management strategy and how to translate this strategy into a meeting with the stakeholders. Furthermore the minor includes a visit to Europe's capital Brussels, an etiquette dinner and several trainings in non-verbal communication.
The students will be trained among others by the Dutch protocol and etiquette experts as well as by behavioural scientists, compliance and ethics officers, cross cultural managers and event marketing managers.

Post-graduate
This minor is for the students of The Hague University only. In 2014 the minor will be given as post-graduate to professionals. For more information: click here.
